Subsequently he ventured out as per His direction and soon found himself working in the Reserve Bank of India in Mumbai. He was the Executive Director, Reserve Bank of India. For over 36 years, Sri Ruchir Desai has been giving life to his students, his fellow teachers and thousands of people from all walks of life and all parts of the globe through the gift of education. Though his title suggested that he is a professor of commerce, he epitomised and lived the dictum of his Swami, ‘education is for life and not a mere living’.He always achieved anything he set his eyes on but decided to focus all his energies only on ‘higher Learning’ rather than ‘higher earning’.
