Prema bandham the bond of love

PremaBandham, a guided tour of the different Seva initiatives in which TN alumni are involved at the state and national levels. Each Seva activity was represented by a standee detailing its features. There were 12 standees in total with the respective Seva coordinator explaining details to the enthusiastic audience.It is this common thread of love that binds every alumnus of the Sri Sathya Sai Institutions to Swami. Tamil Nadu had the great fortune to celebrate this love, Prema Bandham, yet again this year on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Divine lotus feet of Bhagawan at the Shirdi Sai Temple, Guindy. The temple offered the best venue as it is unique in its own right. Nothing could have been more auspicious and divine than the abode chosen by Swami himself for the congregation of the alumni. Karuna Mother’s Home Orphanage

The first COACH program was held in an orphanage called “Karuna Mother’s Home”. Located in RT Nagar, Bangalore, this orphanage is home to around eighty children. The idea of the Compassites team was to spend meaningful time with the kids, and provide them with a sense that they are precious – valued enough for many adults to create a wonderful weekend morning for them. An alumnus led the program with prayer hymns and a sloka session for the children. The tiny tots were provided beautiful and colorful Indian dresses to wear; they looked like bright morning flowers in a garden.After this an origami session was organized for the children where the kids were taught to make beautiful caps out of old waste newspaper. Mid-Year Alumni Meet

The fifth mid-year meeting between the alumni and the faculty & the office bearers of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute was conducted by Swami’s grace on 10 August 2019.In May 2011, a few of our brothers met in Sai Krishan Kalyana Mandapam in Brindavan, each of them wondering on what can be done to remind ourselves of Swami’s eternal presence. There were millions of people who were in the same emotional state of mind. But, we tend to forget that it is a great good fortune to be a contemporary of the Avatar and even greater blessing to serve in His mission. That day, the boys who had gathered understood that listening and contemplating on the wonderful memories and stories of Swami was most comforting to all of us. It is indeed a blessing to live life in contemplation of the Avatar. Read more…
The COVID helpline

The COVID helpline has been a major alumni initiative where technical support and training is provided by alumni at SKCT while the SSSO and alumni across the country work on ground to fulfil requests of covid affected patients. The helpline was revived from Apr 2021 and currently runs for residents across 9 regions including Karnataka, Telangana, Mumbai, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Delhi, Tamil Nadu and Himachal- Chandigarh. A team of 68 doctors were on-boarded to help the callers for consultations. The helplines of certain metro cities began receiving an average of 1500 calls per day, per city. Apart from consultations, the platform provided information for the ICU beds, oxygen cylinder availability, medicines, ambulance, plasma and food.The platform has onboard ~1000 volunteers (including >300 Non-Resident Indians).
